David Thompson Resort  (Nordegg, Alberta)
Do not bring your family to this campground. It is only suitable for young partiers who will be too intoxicated to take in their surroundings. The campsites are filthy. The staff extremely rude. The prices exhorbitant. A complete train wreck of a camping experience. Dangerous playground, terrible customer service. A rip off. This resort is the best kept secret because anyone who gets sucked into staying here will be too embarrassed to admit the disaster they suffered through. It's like being held hostage in a trailer park in the Ozarks.

Jell-E-bean Campground Ltd  (Wasaga Beach, Ontario)
Spent many years as a seasonal resident and it was great. We left the park 8 yrs ago. Went back camping there in 2010 and it was absolutely horrible and unpleasant experience. We had reserved a site a month before our camping date and when we arrived we found out that they gave out lot to someone else. They claim to have hay rides, but that is only if the tractor can start. We were told repeatedly that campfires werent to be higher than the rim. The staff would drive past our lot every 20 min and harrass our family. Activities that were offered were over advertised. The park used to be very well kept but now standards are poor and the staff has the same low standards. This year we are taking our camping trips else where.

Wasaga Pines Family Campground  (Elmvale, Ontario)
Great, relaxing location. Large Sites, feeling of privacy and excellent camper-community. Weekend events through entire season. Mostly seasonal but weekenders always welcomed. Owner makes all attempts at placing seasonal campers where most suited, based on the camper's needs and treats all fairly - barring situational-differences, remains consistent. Regulations are enforced, most of which is common sense and having been there for 10+ years, I can still say I couldn't have found a better place. Excellent place for fishing. Stalked by M.N.R with Rainbow trout. Highly recommended

Town and Country Campark  (Sussex, New Brunswick)
I've been a seasonal camper here for 10 years. Over the past 2 years the campground has gone through a wonderful transformation through the new owner. Additions include a rec hall, new pool, jumping pillow, playground facilities, wiresless internet, upgraded electricity, sewer and water, new laundry facilities, new office, lots have been increased in size, and many new seasonal lots have been created. And, there's more on the way. Thanks to the new owner for all you've done!

Sandbanks Campground  (Picton, Ontario)
This year (2010) was our first time at Sandbanks and we loved it! This provincial park is H-U-G-E and the beaches (we counted three) are well kept and inviting. The water wasn't as clean as we had hoped but we were told that this was due to a recent storm and very hot weather. The Dunes beach is the best of all for families with young kids(trees provide some shade, the water is shallow and kids love to climb up and down 20-30 feet high sand dunes). Note however that there are NO LIFEGUARDS at the beaches (this is the first provincial park we visit that doesn't have lifeguards). With regards to campsites, they are top-notch! Well groomed with plenty of space (on most sites, it's even hard to see your neighbours ). Facilities are fairly good too. At night, it's just magical to see all those campfires lighting up the forest!

Yogi Bears Jellystone Park Camp Resort  (Kingston, Nova Scotia)
A fantasic place if you have younger kids. Lots of things to do. Camp sites are great and the staff are very friendly and take great care when dealing with the kids. Not so great if you have teenagers as the activities are geared toward younger kids.

Loch Lomond Tent and Trailer Park  (Amherst, Nova Scotia)
Excellent campground near every thing you need. The kids enjoyed it but the rules are a little to "military". For example teenagers must be at their own site by 11:00pm even if they are being quiet and no bikes and scooters from dusk on. As well way too many seasonal campers. It appears that everybody is in bed by 11:00pm. All visitors have to pay $3 each.

South Mountain Park Campground and RV Resort  (Kentville, Nova Scotia)
Very crowded camp ground. Felt like a sardine. Nickel and dime you to death if you have kids. They charge for activities that other camp grounds do not.

Knights Beach Resort  (Dunnville, Ontario)
Me and my husband travel all over the states,we did read the comments above and there are 2 Knights Beach and this sint the one there talking about We have booked again for next year already the washrooms were very clean bug free the food was amazing The activities at the play ground were all updated ,so i am thinking this is the Knights Beach not in Dunnville but near Niagara falls Just our opinion Thank You Knights Beach

Driftwood Campground  (Stonecliffe, Ontario)
This was our first visit to this camp ground. We were impressed with the wooded look of the place. The sites are large and pretty clean. our beach access was too rocky to walk in barefoot but there are other sites with great sandy shores (sites 4 - 10) that offers clean sandy shores and very little rocks. son loved it and we'll go back for sure.

Crystal Cove Beach Resort  (Tofino, British Columbia)
This is the ultimate spot for people with or without kids. The staff are awesome! The grounds and facilities are so well maintained, it's unbelievable. There is an awesome playground for the kids and you are just steps away from MacKenzie Beach, an awesome secluded beach that is great any time of year. It's a regular spot for us every year. Thanks to the staff and owners at Crystal Cove, you've made some wonderful memories for our family over the years.

I was horrified to see the state of dismay in this park, The wife and I had frequented these for years in the late eighties and early nineties and never had a complaint, But the service now is just horrendous. Backed up sewage lines, unkept lots, ignorant staff etc. ATROCIOUS!!!!

i agree with you however i work in the sales industry and get some very rarely ..but some customers with mental issues. one of them come about once a week.we cant do anything about it. you cannot simply kick out somebody because of an issue. that is against the law.they see nothing wrong with what they do. however in those very bad cases the authorities should be called, because staff have no right to touch them or cant do much about it. anything physical or wrongly spoken can be taken a wrong way by someone in that state and can get more out of hand. just saying...

Camping Ile Dorleans  (Ile D'orleans, Québec)
I just spent the weekend at this campground and while the sites are a nice size, the service from the people in the campground is absolutely terrible. I've been in campgrounds all across eastern Canada and the US and this is one of the few campgrounds that I will never visit again. They have nice sites, nice facilities, super-clean washrooms but when the employees came to talk to us about a room that we were renting for a family party, they were hostile, arrogant and extremely impolite.

Look Off Family Camping Park  (Canning, Nova Scotia)
Loock-Off campground was big dissapointment .I made reservations for five days, First mistake ,should have looked before i paid. the grass had not been cut on site and they knew it was reserved .the picnic table was on a list,reason being it was rotten ,we asked for another, brought one that was repaired but very dirty .pop and beer cans ,trash on site ,from last season i suppose. but worst of all was washrooms ,their was crap and whatever on seats when we got their and five days later still their.garbage can full ,third day emptied javex poured down sink but not cleaned. i could go on but but my stomach is getting upset.bottom line A dump... The weather was lousy and no they couldnt do anything about that but what are they thinking..they just dont care... theirs lots of nice CLEAN campgrounds within 15 minutes of their so dont even think about it .Drive up to look-off look down on valley. beautiful veiw take some pictures and then go back down valley to a nice clean campground...

Albion Hills Campground  (Palgrave, Ontario)
My family went to Albion every year for approx 20 years until last year. Very poor service from the campground staff. The company seems much more interested in revenue they can gain from the mountain biking and the occasional wedding rather than the families who come up to camp. Last year they closed down the lake and were in the process of building a "water facility" of sorts. I've yet to see it but from what I can gather it is only appropriate for small children. We're not the type of ppl who goes camping to drink beer all day and sit on our campsite...so without the option to swim it's kind of pointless. Also, I really hate that they paved all of the little side roads leading to the campsites as opposed to leaving it as dirt/gravel roads. They don't take care of the land either...about 5 years ago there was a tree that fell into the creek and died... as of 2 years ago it was still there...why leave this gross looking dead tree...it's not preservation at that point...it's just lazy! Another thought, they USED to offer arts and crafts or movies etc. in the chalet especially during any rainy times (for the kids)...they haven't done this for years and I think it would be a good idea to get back to it.

Ruston Family Campground and RV Resort  (Grand Bend, Ontario)
Not impressed when my niece came back from the pool and told me a man had just dropped his pants in front of her and a number of other children. Staff asked him to leave the pool area, but not the campground. He then hung out at the playground for the rest of the day and kept following boys into the washrooms. Staff's response to my complaint was "he's been here for 5 years and has some mental issues". As if that makes it all okay! NOT ACCEPTABLE for ANY campground let alone one targeting families!!!

Twin Shores Camping Area  (Kensington, Prince Edward Island)
Twin Shores is one of the nicest campgrounds my family and I have ever camped at. This campground has 2 private beaches on the property. The main ocean beach has what one local mentioned "best beach on the Island". The campground is located at the end of a point surrounded by water on 3 sides and the scenery is to die for. We stayed at the national park in Cavendish which was recommended to us but were told to check this place out when we filled up for gas. We are glad we did. Its a large park (bring your bike) but many sites offer complete privacy from your neighbors. They have activities going on throughout the day like movies, hayrides, and mussle boils. The facilities are clean and modern. If your headed to P.E.I. this is the place to go!

Lost Lemon RV Park and Campground  (Blairmore, Alberta)
We stayed several nights in the Lost Lemon, in June 2009 and LOVED it! The owner/operator runs a tight ship and maintains this place in the highest order. Grass is neat and trim... sites are clean. Lovely pool, showers/bathrooms are impeccably clean and sparkling. Well maintained laundry facitlites. We were tenting and it even snowed two of the nights we were there. Excellent experience there! We would definately return and spend time here!

Yogi Bears Jellystone Park and Camp-resort  (Bradford, Ontario)
DIRTY!!! Lots were discusting and the service was awfull! Pool was the best out of any of this. The washrooms were full of mold and debris the whole weekend. I'm not a picky person but this was a terrible experience and would never recommend this to anyone! Playground was unsafe!

Jay Lake Campground and RV Park  (Minden, Ontario)
We have been camping for years all across ontario, at many different campgrounds and this is the first time I have felt compelled to find a website such as this to share my negative experience about this park. The rules are outrageous, the owner literally wears a Sheriff's hat and truly believes she is just that. My youngest child was denied swimming in the pool on probably the hottest day of the summer because a swimming diaper was not suffice. So there I am about to enjoy a swim with my children on a hot day and in rushes the sheriff telling me to take my child back out of the pool area. So there I go with 3 kids, screaming and crying because she wouldnt let us in the pool. The kicker was the scene she caused in the evening in front of the kids on the wagon ride. In front of frightened children who were enjoying a wagon ride, she pulls her golf cart in front of a truck trying to get to their cottage on adjacent land, she proceeded to verbally attack and threaten these teenagers. My children were scared and started crying to get off the wagon ride. Do NOT waste your time here. There are so many beautiful places to enjoy in Ontario that are not enforced by a cranky, power-controlling "Sheriff"!!!!

Shalamar Lake Trailer and Family Park  (Queenston, Ontario)
Had a really great time at this campground. Lots of entertainment and things to do for the kids. Stocked variety store, video game room, large sites, huge clean pool, security. Close to Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Bon Echo Family Campground  (Cloyne, Ontario)
Stayed for a few nights in August 2008. We were given a large private site which we enjoyed very much. The only downside of this campground is that you had to pay to use the shower.
