What is the Camping-Canada.Com website option? Camping-Canada.Com is primarily a directory of Canadian campgrounds with search engines that campers use to locate their camping destinations. As a campground owner, you can either list your campground with us for free or you can build your own website (hosted by us) for a minimal annual fee using our web tools. The building process is actually quite simple. Using our "website administration tools", you simply enter (ie. type in) your campground information on our web "forms" and you specify which photo(s) you want shown on your website pages! That's it.... we have built special programs that will take your information and automatically build your website in the background. Depending on how much information you enter and which website pages you want activated, your website can be ready in as little as 30 minutes for a simple three (3) page website or in a few hours for a more complex website (twenty plus (20+) pages website). And, of course, we will host your website on the internet within our campground website "portal" and your website will be available to you "24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year" for additions or updates.

Why do I need a website? Quite simply because a website will INCREASE your campground’s exposure and consequently, your revenues! The internet is the most cost effective way to advertise your campground nationwide and even worldwide. For a fraction of the price it costs to run one advertisement in a newspaper or trade magazine, you can reach millions of campers searching for a campground just like yours. Over the last couple of years, internet usage has grown substantially. People are now using the internet to search for information, buy or sell products, make reservations and travel arrangements. According to a study released by Statistics Canada in July 2004.... "more than 6.7 million Canadian homes used the Internet on a regular basis in 2003" and according to Sympatico™, "camping" and "campgrounds" are two of the most popular search items during the summer months.

In the internet industry, "camping-canada.com" is known as a "portal" which is defined as "a site that serves as an entrance to related sites on the internet". Our business (and yours) is camping and as can be seen in the diagram on the right, our website has great traffic... we reached the "1,000,000 hits per month" mark back in May 2006 (just for 2006, we had well over 6 million hits). These numbers truly reflect the growing popularity of our website and our target is to increase this traffic by at least 50% every year. By the way, you can also verify our popularity by doing a search on "camping" in Google Canada .... we consistently come up at the top of the list. Website option rates

In order to be fair to all campground owners, we have established a fee structure that is based on the number of campsites at a campground. Our annual rate is $1 per campsite with a minimum of $99/year and a maximum of $400/year. (Please note that we are not a government agency and that these fees are used to pay our staff and for our internet equipment and infrastructure)

It is important to note that this annual fee is "all inclusive". It gives you 24/7 access to our website development tools and unlimited updates for a whole year. There is no additional website development fee, no maintenance fee and no hosting fee (a fee charged by companies to put a website on the internet). You pay $1 per campsite and that's all!

To proceed with the "Campground website" option, simply click here to send us the required information so we can initialize your website and assign you your own "campground Id" and "password" (these will be e-mailed to you within 2 to 3 business days). Note that all new accounts are given a 30-day trial period (if you register during the winter months, this trial period is automatically extended to the start of the next camping season (ie. April 1st)). During this trial period, you can use our tools at no charge. At the end of your trial period, you will be requested to pay your annual fee in order to keep your account (website) active.

Note that, if you already have your own website, you can still get listed in "camping-canada.com" with our "Free listing" option. This option allows you to add your campground in our national campground directory (at no charge) with a link to your own website. "Click here" for more information.
